June Fireside Chat with Adrian Wolf, Stewardship Manager for the Great Peninsula Conservancy

Date & Time: Jun 19, 2024 07:30 PM

Sponsored by Northwest Natural Resources Group

For the June fireside chat, we will be joined by Adrian Wolf, the stewardship manager for the Great Peninsula Conservancy (GPC). A goal of the GPC stewardship program is to improve the ecological integrity of GPC’s forestlands by increasing forest structure and species diversity. Implementing practices to improve forest health seems appropriate given the dramatic decline in populations of many North American landbirds. Adrian will share a project that uses remote acoustic devices to capture bird responses to forest conservation practices including snag creation through tree girdling and improving structural diversity with patch openings. This collaborative project is supported by Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Land Trust Bird Conservation Initiative. Bring your favorite beverage, curl up in a comfy chair, and learn how your knowledge can contribute to healthy forests. This chat will be fairly casual, and we encourage you to bring questions and share your experiences. The June Fireside Chat will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
